The Pride Day Equality Project Scholarship was started in 2018 as way to support youth from within the LGBTQIA+ community as they move out into the world. The Scholarship is funded through donations at Pride and year-round on our website and at various Pride Day Equality Project events. 2019 amount awarded: $7,500 2020 amount awarded: $10,000 2021 amount awarded: $10,000
GUIDELINES FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM Scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors and students currently enrolled at any college or university. Scholarship monies will be be paid directly to the educational institution in the student's name. Student applicants must meet the following requirements:
Applicants should be a member of the LGBTQ2SIA+ community
Have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.00 on a 4.0 scale.
Have acquired acceptance to, or be enrolled at, an accredited college or university of their/her/his choice and must be an enrolled full-time student for the Fall semester of 2022
Student applicant should note any special financial needs on their application form. Applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2022. The Scholarship Selection Committee reviews and scores all submitted applications, at which point the applicant’s references may be contacted by telephone. The Scholarship Committee may also choose to interview applicants by phone or in person. Successful applicants will be notified by May 15, 2022. Interviews may be requested.
